Premises visits can be a powerful and productive way to engage with the press and potential or existing clients. By inviting them for a ‘tour’, or to see a new product or piece of equipment in action, you can forge valuable relationships and increase the potential for boosting brand awareness and sales.
Allowing ‘behind the scenes’ access in this way requires careful planning. The first thing to consider is what you are offering by staging such an event. Time is precious in the media and in business, so in order to pull in the crowds you need to give them something they want. This could be a product launch, where the invitees receive an exclusive first look at a new product; or perhaps you want to stage a live demonstration of a newly-updated cleaning machine that has increased powers and capabilities.
Information is also highly prized by colleagues, peers and clients alike. Hosting an educational seminar or ‘round table’ event, where authoritative speakers give presentations on issues affecting your industry sector – such as regulations or health and safety matters – can be extremely rewarding for you and your audience. Such events can improve your company’s reputation as a thought leader, and provide interesting content that can be used to contribute to your on-going PR campaign.
