SoundPLAN

Brief

Having worked with noise mapping specialist, SoundPLAN since 2015, our current PR campaign for them has a particular focus on raising the company’s profile in Asia and Latin American markets.

Our PR activity and social media support for SoundPLAN is a prime example of how we nurture long-term relationships with our clients and adapt our activity in line with business goals, based on open and regular communication.

The overarching objectives of the 2022-2023 annual campaign were to:

♦   Reinforce its position as the global market leader in environmental noise protection
♦   Showcase the company’s innovations in software development
♦   Support lead generation internationally across six key vertical sectors
♦   Attract more software users and enhance relationships with global distributor partners

Activity

To increase awareness internationally, the focus is on Asia and Latin America, across six key vertical sectors – industrial, construction, architecture, transport, town planning/environmental and specialist noise control.

Content, tailored to these sectors, consists of thought leadership articles, news releases, case studies, and ‘ask the expert’ tips, alongside eye-catching visuals of noise-mapping projects to capture attention. Support is also provided with social media content and monthly analysis for SoundPLAN and room acoustics sister company, Sarooma across four platforms each.

Thought-leadership article themes include the impact of workplace noise across vertical sectors, evaluating people’s annoyance levels in reaction to different types of noise, and assessing the impact of new technologies on noise propagation, such as the growth of urban air mobility, including drones.

Results

Our campaign has successfully positioned SoundPLAN as a global leader in environmental noise protection with key outcomes including:

♦   Uplift in number of software users and enhanced relationships with global distributor partners, leading to increased number of annual partner events
♦   Extended SoundPLAN’s international reach in key target countries with a good mix of press coverage across Asian and Latin American key markets as well as European and international publications: 25% of press coverage in the campaign was gained in Asia, 16% in Latin America, 17% in international publications, 17% in Germany, where SoundPLAN is headquartered, and 25% in the rest of Europe.
An increased following across social media including 435 new followers on SoundPLAN’s LinkedIn over the course of the 2022-2023 annual campaign.
Awareness raised in key vertical sectors with a press coverage sector breakdown of construction (34%), industrial (25%) and architecture/design (17%). The further three target sectors (transport, town planning/environmental and specialist noise control magazines) equated to 8% each of the total press coverage.
Focus on engaging, thought-leadership content with highlights including a four-page article about the impact of drones in Indian environmental magazine, Terragreen and an extensive advice article about noise control in Brazilian magazine, Fundição e Serviços (Foundry and Services).
