SoundPLAN releases version 5.1 of its SoundPLANessential noise mapping software

World leading noise-mapping software developer, SoundPLAN, has released version 5.1 of its SoundPLANessential software to the global market.

SoundPLANessential can calculate the noise emissions from roads, railways and industry sources. It is designed for users who only have an occasional requirement for a noise map, helping them achieve reliable tabular and graphical results for a standard noise calculation with the investment of minimal time.

SoundPLANessential version 5.1 includes the adaption of Building Acoustics-Outside to the updated standard EN ISO 12354-3:2017, relating to the estimation of the acoustic performance of buildings. This can be used to proof the acoustic properties (the transmission loss) of a room against unwanted outdoor noise.

The software also incorporates a compatibility update to NoizCalc noise prediction software which predicts the noise emissions from sound systems at open air events, giving a graphical overview during the planning of the stage setup. Projects using this award-winning software, developed by d&b audiotechnik in conjunction with SoundPLAN, can now be loaded into the new version SoundPLANessential 5.1.

The software includes a number of new features and improvements recently added to the previous version of SoundPLANessential. This includes a convenient map interface, which allows you to easily transfer background maps from Google Maps as well as from OpenStreetMap to SoundPLANessential. The elevation data provided by Google Maps can be imported and used as a basis for your terrain model. For the data import, users can use a new, additional interface to OpenStreetMap in the future. This allows you to import your data model almost anywhere in the world without much effort.

For industrial noise, a convenient level calculator has been implemented, with which operating times and the emission of moving sound sources can be taken into account very easily. The available noise dispersion calculation methods are supplemented by CNOSSOS-EU (road, rail and industrial noise), including the German and Austrian adaptations. SoundPLANessential 5.1 is available as a free of charge update to existing SoundPLANessential 5.0 customers.

SoundPLAN also offers fully comprehensive software solution, SoundPLANnoise, suitable for all facets of noise emission control, noise at the workplace or room acoustics, small projects or nationwide noise mapping.
