Facilities Show 2018 welcomed over 12,000 visitors and 280+ exhibitors. As a show that responds to the FM industry’s needs, Facilities Show 2018 welcomed a brand new Occupational Health and Wellbeing Zone to support the industry’s shift towards looking after worker mental health and wellbeing. In addition, the show welcomed the BIFM Smart Client Programme, which equipped FM’s with the procurement and contract management tools to reduce risk and improve quality through strategic sourcing. Also new to 2018 was the FM Sports Bar, where FMs kicked back during the World Cup and discussed the highlights of their days.

It comes as no surprise that the meetings service thrived in its second year, with a total number of 767 meetings between suppliers and exhibitors being pre-arranged, proving the show to be the perfect place for every FM to do business.

Facilities Show 2018Chris Edwards, Brand Director, Facilities Show commented, “I can say with certainty that this has been a truly incredible event – 2018 saw a new level of buzz on the show floor. The sentiment from visitors and exhibitors has been really positive, which is a testament to the show’s growth. The show is here to welcome thousands of FMs to network, be inspired and discover the latest smart solutions – and that’s exactly what happened over the course of 3 days.”

The Director of Evaccess praised the event as the “Best show for years, both [the] quality and quantity of people have been really strong.”

The Inspirational Speaker Series also drew massive crowds as the show welcomed a fantastic line-up of world class speakers, including comedian and mental health expert Ruby Wax OBE, English rugby legend Sir Clive Woodward OBE and Nicky Moffat CBE, formerly the British Army’s highest-ranking female officer.

One of the most successful seminar sessions was titled, “FM in 2025: Technology Disruption in FM,” which tackled how smart buildings will develop in the next 5-7 years, the FM implications of IoT and AI and the cyber security threat which accompanies the rise of connected workplaces.

Facilities Show 2018Once again, Facilities Show formed part of the Protection & Management Series, and visitors had unlimited access to co-located specialist events across fire, health and safety, security, service management and workwear. FMs were able to deepen their expertise across all verticals and get face to face with suppliers.

Jeremy Rees, Acting CEO, ExCeL London commented, “We were delighted to welcome FAC to ExCeL London. Our teams are working closely with UBM to support their ambitions for growth and we are delighted that they had another successful event with us. This event, together with the wider P&M series, is playing a vital role in maintaining and creating safe and secure environments, something that resonates strongly with us. We look forward to welcoming visitors and exhibitors again next year, when they will be able to travel to ExCeL more quickly than ever before via the Elizabeth line.”

Facilities Show 2019 takes place from 18 – 20 June 2019 at ExCeL London. For more information about participating either as an exhibitor, sponsor or visitor please visit www.facilitiesshow.com or contact Chris Edwards on chris.edwards@ubm.com
